The Planning Team for the 2013 Bowe Family Reunion has been hard at work again making plans for the upcoming family reunion. This will be another exciting family reunion with hopes of members from the other Bowe Branches coming together as we continue to bridge the family gap. I am proud of the successful efforts thus far in reconnecting our elders and our families. We think our grandparents would be so proud of us and personally I wish they were alive today to see us now.
We’ve extended the invitation to the descendants of grandpop Jessie Bowe’s siblings, (brother William R Bowe.) & (sister Elmira Bowe) once again. The dates and location are set for June 21-23, 2013 in Baltimore Inner Harbor, MD. Let’s make this another fantastic “Bowedacious Family Affair ”. To make this family reunion a success, the planning committee needs your help with the following:

REUNION COST for Friday Meet & Greet, Saturday Banquet and Sunday Breakfast
ADULTS - $60 per person (includes children/teens 13& up)
Children ages 6 to 12 - $30.00
Children ages 0 to 5 - Free
REUNION COST for Saturday Only
ADULTS - $45 per person (includes children/teens 13 & up)
Children ages 6 to 12 - $25.00
Children ages 0 to 5 - Free

You can also register by going to the registration tab on the website, but you MUST send back the enclosed registration form. This registration is for the reunion and DOES NOT reserve your hotel room. You must call the hotel and mention the Bowe Family Reunion to reserve your room. (more information on back)

The hotel rooms are $129.00 plus tax per night. There is a $23.00 per day parking fee on the property or $16.00 per day in parking garage across the street if you preregister/prepay. I will send information on when the prepaid parking needs to be paid by. Please call the hotel to reserve your room and mention the Bowe Family Reunion. Reservations must be made by 3:00 pm on May 21, 2013. I can only request an extension of this date, if we have to, when we get closer to the date. No guarantees so to try to reserve your room by then.
Friday - Family Meet and Greet Night in the Holiday Inn Hotel, 12th Floor, Overlooking the city… 6pm - until
Saturday - Open schedule for family to venture out and explore the Inner Harbor, the new Casino Live, Dave & Buster’s both at Arundel Mills Mall (15 min from the harbor) , or other attractions listed below.
- Dinner/entertainment in The Chesapeake room of the Holiday Inn hotel, 1st Floor…. 6pm - 10pm
(Dress attire is casual or island like) (Possible desert/cake contest and Chinese auction again)
Sunday - Breakfast and farewell in the Holiday Inn Hotel, the Chesapeake room, 1st Floor....… 9am – 12pm
If you are planning to participate in any other activity outside of the reunion, keep in mind there may be additional costs for some of these activities. Some of the activities available are:

üNational Great Blacks in Wax Museum $12 adults, $11 Senior Citizens, $11.00 Young adults 12-17 yrs $11.00, Children 3-11yrs $10
üPowerplant Live! Music, dancing, live performances with over 10 clubs to choose from for the night owls !
It is very important that we receive a preliminary count for all family members and guests who will be attending the Saturday night and Sunday morning events so please visit the "Registration" link and register yourself and your guests. If you register online, you still MUST send the registration form that is included in this mailing back to me to give the hotel the proper head count for the amount of meals to charge us for.

RAFFLE TICKET FUNDRAISER
Family members are receiving tickets to sell @ $2.00 each or $10.00 per book. All ticket monies will be due back no later than December 12, 2012 for the drawing to be held December 15, 2012. Although we got little late start, the goal here is to try to have time for the prizes to be delivered by Christmas if the winners decide to make their prizes a Christmas gift.
If anyone has any other ideas for family fundraisers please let us know. The fundraisers help to reduce costs associated with putting the reunion together. As guests, the William R Bowe and Elmira Bowe branch are not expected to sell tickets, but are very welcomed to participate. We look forward to seeing all the Bowedacious faces once again!
